I'm sorry to hear of Wayne's passing as well.  He was indeed a quiet young man but had a great sense of humor and was an excellent athlete.  Wayne brightened my high school experience with his friendship.

Wayne was a classmate during our Elementary School years at Lincoln all the way thru HS  and a great teammate in Little League. His Gentle smile and postive attitude were awesome.  RIP my friend..

I, too, remember Wayne as quiet - but not shy. Does anyone know about his life after HS? He was a sweet guy. I'm so sad about all these passings; we've lost so many classmates, I've lost my husband, and other friends recently. I always hoped we'd make it to our 80's at least. RIP Wayne. I remember you. May that be some comfort for your family.

While I was attending a memorial service for a relative of my wife at  Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple in downtown L.A., Wayne was there as an "elder" of the temple. He lived and worked in downtown L.A. and to the best of my knowledge raised his children there.

I too remember Wayne as having a quick smile and a sense of humor.

So sorry to hear of Wayne's transition.  We were at Lincoln School together and I remember him and Darryl Shibata being fun and wonderful. . .and quiet.  He had a great smile.  I hope he enjoys the other side.

Wayne rode the bus up in the hills that took us both to and from Lincoln School. I think he lived on a corner rigjt near his bus stop. His smiling face comes immediately to mind. Sweet person.

Wayne was one of my best friends at Lincoln. We played in Little League and he was one of the better players. He had a wry sense of humor and a great smile. I remember having a bike crash near his house and how attentive his mother was in fixing me up.  His presence will be always be with us.

Dear Wayne - so sorry you left this world too soon. You were silly when little and I am sure that perky sense of fun and humor stayed with you as you aged.  We smile thinking about you. I am sure the angels have welcomed you.  Say hello to all our So Pas friends who also left us far too soon.
